| DDC reviews progress under RMSA, SSA | | | | KATHUA: District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Jitendra K Singh, today reviewed progress on construction of school buildings and other interventions under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Aabhiyan (RMSA) and Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in an officers meeting. The meeting discussed in detail the status of completion of school buildings under the schemes with the CEO Kathua and ZEOs of different education zones. It was disclosed that construction of 542 primary school buildings have been taken up in the different education Zones of the district under SSA, of which, 384 have been completed. While reviewing the status of completion of buildings under RMSA, it was revealed that 35 buildings have been taken up under this scheme and buildings of high school Sumo and Pallad have been completed. The DDC directed the ZEOs concerned to expedite the process of land identification and land acquisition for construction of school buildings. He further asked the officers of education department to work in close coordination with the revenue and engineering wings so that desired targets could be achieved in time. The DDC also directed the officers to supervise the Mid Day Meal Scheme and ensure that proper quality and hygiene is maintained. Among others Sub Divisional Magistrate Billawar, CPO Kathua, Assistant Commissioner (Development) and other senior officers were present in the meeting. |
