| Legal Metrology for curbing overcharging, low weight of LPG cylinders | | | SRINAGFAR: According to Deputy Controller, Legal Metrology, it is mandatory for LPG dealers to carry a digital weighing scale or mechanical scale of 50 Kg capacity with verification scale interval of 10 Kg and of accuracy class III at the time of home delivery of LPG cylinder to consumers to ensure supply of LPG cylinders with standard weight to the consumers.
It is as such informed that the consumers shall insist for on spot weighing of LPG cylinder during home delivery and shall not accept the delivery if the cylinder is less in weight by more than 150 grams.
The cost of refill LPG cylinder on Home Delivery is Rs. 427/- while if collected from godown a rebate of Rs. 15/- shall be ensured.
The Deputy Controller, Legal Metrology, Kashmir has also advised the consumers to lodge the complaint with the concerned Inspector, Legal Metrology of the area in case the LPG cylinders with low weight are supplied or dial Phone No. 0194-2310753 to book the complaint for speedy redressal. |
