| Mystery of murder resolved, husband of victim held | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 7: Police claimed to have solved a mysterious murder case of one lady whose body was found in semi decomposed form her rented accommodation in Billan Bowli area of Udhampur with the arrest of husband of the lady.
Udhampur Police during investigation of a mysterious murder case of one married lady namely as Koke alias Suman W/o Ram Kumar R/o Jaganoo, Udhampur whose body was found in semi decomposed form in Billan Bowli area of Udhampur today arrested the husband of lady identified as Ram Kumar R/o Jaganoo, Udhampur.
As per police case based on an information received from some reliable sources regarding the suspicious death of the above named lady, inquest proceedings under section 174/Cr.PC were initiated in Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, SHO Police Station Udhampur visited the scene of crime, collected crime details and other evidences from the scene of crime and recorded the statements of various independent witnesses. "Thereafter the dead body was sent to District Hospital Udhampur for Post Mortem. After receiving the post mortem report, it was established that the said lady had died due to head injury. Taking cue from statements of independent witnesses, the Investigating Officer (I/O) questioned the husband of the deceased lady.
During sustained questioning the suspect broke down and admitted to the commission of crime stating thereof that the deceased used to quarrel with him quite often on petty issues especially on taking liquor and on the date of incident also she was quarreling with him and getting annoyed of that he hit her hard on her head with a agriculture tool (Boungri) due to which she died on the spot.
"Thereafter, the accused fled away from the spot leaving behind the dead body inside the room. After few days when the dead body started decomposing and smell started coming out of the room, people came to know about the incident, information of which was received in P/S Udhampur thereof, police added. |
