| Beyond Omar's Rasool obsession | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 7: Omar's repeated and uncalled for tweets over selection of Parvez Rasool, a cricketer from J&K in India A, an IPL team and finally in the national squad that toured Zimbabwe recently where he was not fielded in the five ODIs that India played, has to quite an extent exposed Omar's regional bias as he has repeatedly referred to Rasool as a kashmiri cricketer rather than a Cricketer from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Disturbingly for the people of Jammu, while Omar was going gaga over Rasool on twitter, he had to be reminded of another cricketer from state who belonged to Jammu and was part of the national under 19 squad presently touring Sri Lanka. While Rasool did not get an opportunity to exhibit his skills, Shubham Khajuria hit two half centuries in the first two matches that he played opening the batting for his team. Meanwhile, many are questioning Chief Minister's indifference towards State's another budding talent, a ten year old singer Anmol Jaiswal, who is warming the hearts of entire nation through his melodious singing and faces threat of elimination from famous Television Program 'Indian Idol' despite remarkable performances due to ban on SMS on pre paid mobiles in our state. Anmol, has unfortunately escaped the benevolence of young Chief Minister probably because he is not a 'kashmiri' singer. |
