Sports Reporter JAMMU, Aug 22: The formidable side of Border Security Force (BSF) School Paloura today clinched the title trophy in the inter-school under-19 boys' handball tournament of Jammu district, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at Shastri Nagar Playfield, here. In the final, BSF Paloura boys registered an easy 7-1 win over Army Public School (APS) Domana. Gourav, Koushal and Sahil scored two goals each for the winners BSF School. In the semifinals, played today, BSF School beat Government (boys) Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor 11-05 while APS trounced Government SRML Higher Secondary School by seven goals to four. Earlier, in the preliminary round of the competition, APS Domana blanked Heritage School 3-0 and GHSS Akhnoor beat APS Miran Sahib 1-0 in a low scoring game. The handball competition officiated by Ajay Sharma, Sanjay Jamwal, Gourav Sharma, Joginder Sharma and Ravinder. Football: SRML, JKPS, DPS advance Meanwhile, in inter-school under-19 boys' football tournament of Jammu district, Government SRML Higher Secondary School, JK Public School (JKPS) and Delhi Public School (DPS) entered into the second round of the competition being held at GGM Science College ground under the banner of DYSS. Earlier, a record 21 teams turned up for the district level competition resulting into a tight schedule for the technical committee on the opening day. As many as seven matches took place today. These matches were officiated by the technical penal including Mohinder Singh, Rattan Lal, Rohit, Kushey, Jyoti and Harvinder Kour. |
