| After 24 years, Maha Daneshwar cave yatra revived | | | Early Times Report Bandipore, Aug 22: Shardha Mata Trust (SMT) alongwith All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) jointly organized the reopening ceremony of ancient holy 125 ft long Maha Daneshwar Cave (Chhota Amarnath) in Bandipore area after 24 years here today. Situated at 5800 ft above sea level in dense forests this holy cave used to be frequented by Kashmiri Hindus regularly prior to their mass migration where yatra used to be conducted for one month to culminate on Raksha Bandan. Talking to reporters at Daneshwar, APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit said that his organization has extended full support to SMT for organizing this yatra adding from now on this yatra will be an annual feature and APMCC will always extend full support to such initiatives. While thanking APMCC for its whole hearted support the president SMT Rattan Lal Bhat said that SMT has been working hard to make this yatra a success for quite some time adding his organization will conduct this yatra regularly hence forth. |
