Kathua, Sept 23: Several business establishments sprang up on either side of Kalibari Kathua road have no parking facility, due to which the road has turned into a parking slot creating traffic jam problem.
Several business establishments including Easy Day Mall, HDFC Bank, J&K Bank, opposite Kathua secretariat, Little Angel Higher Secondary School beside others have no proper parking arrangement, due to which a sizeable number of two wheelers and four wheelers could be seen parked outside of these premises.
Castigating the law enforcement agencies, Varinder Sharma, Rahul and Raj Kumar said, "Why these building owners are not penalized for violation of parking rules and why administration is silent to stop such illegal and unauthorized parking? Are these building owners having the special privileges to use the public road? If yes then explain by administration in what capacity they are not been asked and if not then also administration has answer why these are free to encroach the public road". The haphazard parking on road has resulted in its shrinking, which is posing a serious threat to two wheelers and commuters. They appealed district administration and other law enforcing agencies to take action against violators. |
