Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 23: Senior Congress leader and former minister Gulchain Singh Charak visited Makhanpur to pay obeisance at Dargah Peer baba and apart from offering prayers, he offered Chadar there. After that while addressing the gathering there, he stressed upon the people to follow the foot-prints and preaching of these Sufi Saints. On this occasion, various problems like-replacement of old and damaged electric wires, proper de-silting of canals and repair of roads which are in dilapidated condition were put forth by the people of Makhanpur village. While expressing his deep concern over the plight of the people of this constituency, Charak appealed to R&B Department to immediately take up the restoration work on roads of this constituency which were badly damaged due to recent heavy rains. He also stressed upon the authorities to immediately provide basic amenities like BPL Ration, old-age pension and replacement of old electric wires which cause electric hazard due to which many precious lives were lost. He appealed to the people to remain vigilant from those who divide people on religious lines and assure the victory of Congress party in the coming elections. Other who spoke on the occasion were S.
