| DC Jammu tenders apology to SIC over delay in RTI | | | | Jammu, Sept 23:: Having being failed to timely comply the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir State Information Commission, an apex body for the Right to Information Act, Ajit Kumar Sahu, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu has tendered his apology to the State Information Commission (SIC)/RTI Commission in a case titled Raman Sharma v/s PIO DC Jammu. The Deputy Commissioner, vide his office letter no DCJ/PIO/RTI/2013-14/641-42 addressed to the Deputy Registrar of the JKSIC has submitted " The undersigned own responsibility of delay as well as non compliance of the Hon'ble Commission's order in time and apologize to the Honourable commission for this omission". Here it needs to mention the Honourable Information Commissioner, Dr S K Sharma on 09/04/2013 has directed the Deputy Commissioner to hold a probe within a month time and fix responsibility on the officer for causing delay in furnishing the information under Right to Information Act to RTI activist Raman Sharma who had sought information related to total number of licenses issued under J & K Cinematographic Act 1989. Finding no reply, the complainant moved another complaint before the commission seeking action for non compliance of the orders of the order of the honourable Information commission and then on 22/08/2013, Commission has sought personal appearance of the DC along with counter statement. |
