Srinagar, Sept 23: Commenting upon the fresh terror attack in Srinagar the summer capital of state, Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad today said that the group of militants involved in the attack on CISF personnel is the similar group which carried an attack in Hari Singh High Street (HSHS) in June this year. While talking to a Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS, the top brass Prasad said, "Initial investigations have revealed that the militants involved in today's attack near Naaz Cinema had come from North Kashmir's Sopore town.' "There is maximum possibility that they would have fled from the Srinagar city soon after carrying the attack on CISF personnel," DGP said further adding, "some militants may be present in Srinagar and its adjacent areas.' DGP also said that police had information that some militants from Sopore have managed their entry into Srinagar. "It was most probably these militants who carried out today's attack," he added. He told news agency that militants used the same weapon, which was used in killing policemen near Hari Singh High Street (HSHS) attack this year in June. "Same group is operating in Srinagar and we hopefully would bust this group in coming days," Prasad said adding that militants strike in Srinagar city to show their presence here. (CNS) |
