| JU holds Syndicate, Finance Committee meeting | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 23: The University Syndicate met today in the University of Jammu under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and took a number of important decisions. BB Vyas, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister/ Admn. Secretary to the Govt, Finance Department, Financial Advisor JU attended the meeting.Vice Chancellor welcomed the members and apprised them about the major developments and achievements of the University during the past one year. The University has successfully conducted Entrance Test (In House) for admission to Masters Degree Programmes in various subjects .He informed that University is busy in preparations for the upcoming Indian Science Congress which is being hosted for the first time in Jammu & Kashmir State in the long history of over hundred years. Prof Ishar sought the cooperation of all the members for successful conduct of this mega scientific event. In this 102nd meeting of the Syndicate, 66 agenda items were presented by Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Registrar, University of Jammu. The deliberations were also held with regard to various service matters, amendment of Statutes, regulations of various funds especially students aid fund, staff requirements in various offices and modification in financial powers.One of the items on the agenda was the proposed Media Policy of the University which was appreciated by the members however few suggestions need to be incorporated before its finalization. Temporary and permanent affiliation to Non Government colleges/ institutions were also granted. It was also recommended to start PG Diploma in BioInformatics in the School of Biotechnology. The authorization for implementation of CCIM notifications ( Minimum standards of Education in India Medicine) was also accorded. Similarly guidelines for conducting written examinations for persons with disabilities issued by Dept of Disability Affairs, Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment, GOI was also endorsed. Introduction of Pharmacy Subject in the University of Jammu and starting of B Pharmacy Course in the affiliated was also endorsed. |
