Kathua, Sept 23: Motor and Vehicle Department Kathua has launched a drive against the over charging from passengers by auto operators in the district.
In this connection the MVD officials laid nakas at several important places including Jarai, Jakhbar, Nagri, Kalibari under the supervision of RTO Kathua Ajay Sharma, ARTO Salim Manhas and Inspector Salim Manhas. 15 passenger autos were challaned who were without meters and were charging the flat rates from the passengers. The MVD official said flat rates are illegal, as the auto operators have no legal right to charge the flat rates from passengers." |
