| AFSPA should be strengthened: Bitta | | No relevance of talks with Pak, ‘Goli Ka Jawab Goli Hi Ho’ | | Akshay Azad
Jammu, Sept 27: Terming Thrusday terrorist strike at Samba Hiranagar as major security lapse on part of various security agencies, chairman of All India Anti Terrorist Front (AIATF) and former chief of Indian Youth Congress Maninderjeet Singh Bitta asserted that Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) should be strengthened and should be implemented in various areas of Jammu province including district Samba and Kathua. He further said that there was no relevance of talks with Pakistan and reply of bullet must be given by bullet. "I visited Samba after terror strike and found that four army soldiers were guarding one bunker, but if the same security arrangements would have been in place last day, the terrorist strike would have been averted as all three terrorists would have been killed at entrance of army gate", he said while addressing media persons at Press Club Jammu. He further maintained that the yesterday terror strike was total security lapse on part of various security agencies as after attacking one police station, terrorists covered around 15 kilometers of distance but there was no alert sounded in Samba and only one army soldier was guarding the Army gate at Mahesar, where terrorists struck. "Like-as all the chiefs of various security agencies were responsible for assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in the same way for yesterday terrorist attack, security agencies operating in Jammu and Kashmir are responsible", he said. Launching a scathing attack on all political parties, Bitta further rued that the political party representatives were playing politics over dead bodies of soldiers. "When insurgency broke out in Punjab, we (irrespective of all political parties) had pledged to eradicate the menace and we done it. If today any terrorism related incident held in Punjab, we are responsible for it", he stated, and castigated that in Jammu and Kashmir the scenario was totally different and political parties were trying to take political mileage from terrorist attacks. Throwing an open challenge to Omar Abdullah led state government, Bitta said that Governor rule should be imposed in Jammu and Kashmir and KPS Gill should be given control of state and one would see, how the militancy would be wiped out once and all from state. "In governor rule, there is close coordination between state and center but in absence of same, there is no coordination, which led to such type of security lapses", he asserted. He further maintained that if presently Indira Gandhi would be Prime Minister, the Pakistan would be given a befitting reply by guns. "There should be no dialogue with Pakistan as we see no change in the attitude of Pakistan and after every dialogue, same audacious attacks happened", he said. "We don't want war with Pakistan as majority of civilians will be killed in wars on either side of fence but at-least security should be strengthened and tightened at each and every corner of state", he said. |
