JAMMU, Sept 27: Two months after the appointment of blue eyed Junior Theatre Assistant (JTA) at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) on contractual basis, the character verification remains awaited.
Earlier, the GMC&H authorities allegedly twisted the rules to appoint JTA, Wasim Tariq, in lieu of some pecuniary benefits, rejecting the deserving candidate who was above in the merit list. Moreover, a case against said candidate is also pending in Chief Judicial Magistrate, which raised a question mark over functioning of GMC&H authorities and influence of blue eyed candidate.
Ignored, deserving candidate Mohd Safeer son of Talib Husain resident of Ghambirmughlan, Thanamandi told Early Times that Wasim Tariq was selected by selection committee of GMC&H under RBA category for the post of JTA and he joined on August 2, 2013.
"GMC&H authorities are not conducting character verification of said candidate, as he is facing criminal charges and the case is laying before CJM Rajouri", Safeer alleged, adding that two months have gone and as per rule the GMC&H should conduct the character verification but same was being deliberately delayed by the authorities.
"When I approached to Personnel Officer (PO) GMC&H and apprised him about the wrong doing by the authorities, he refused to take action over appointment. PO asked to go court", he added.
"Being away from merit, Wasim has been also facing criminal charges and had assaulted a woman and booked under section 452, 147, 323 RPC at Police Station Thana Mandi under FIR number 86/2012", the documents read.
Safeer alleged that the candidate was appointed even with producing his character certificate. "The selection committee has not been disclosing the details about merit academic as well as in interview for the post", the depriving candidate written vigilance requesting that if said person had joined the department his salary should not be drawn without verification and his service should be terminated. |
