Et Report Srinagar, Dec3; Many private schools in Kashmir have brazenly flouted government orders regarding winter vacations, causing inconvenience to students and their parents. The school education department had announced that all private and government schools up to eighth standard shall break for winter on December 2. The rest have been ordered to stop classes from December 16. A delegation of parents complained that private schools continued functioning even today. "Our children are attending school in this cold continuously due to which many of them have fallen ill as they have to leave home early in the morning," said a parent whose child is studying in Delhi Public school Budgam. The Director, School Education, Tariq Ali, however, said the department has not received any such complaints so far. "If we receive a complaint against any school keeping the classes open up to eighth standard, despite announcement of winter break, we will take stringent action," he said. Ali has asked the parents to make a formal complaint to him in this regard. |
