SRINAGAR, Dec 3: All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has reiterated its call to protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi if the state government fails to stop encroachment on the property of Kashmiri Pandits by vested interests.
In a statement, AMCCC President, Desh Ratan Pandita said that a meeting of Committee was held at Jammu in which all the members took part.
Pandita said that the executive members of AMCCC requested the state government to solve problems of Kashmiri migrants. The members requested the government to release funds for the development of camps through Relief Organization.
"The AMCCC appreciates work of Ravinder Bakshi, Agriculture Extension Officer working in the Relief Organization as Headquarter Assistant since 15 years. He was awarded by then Minister of Sports and Medical Education (R S Chib) at Muthi Migrant Camp before a large gathering, because of his hard work, honesty, dedication and sincerity," said AMCCC President. He said Bakshi and a Journalist will be awarded by AMCCC in near future for their good work.
Pandita said that with the onset of militancy when Kashmiri migrants were driven out or left the Kashmir valley then the state government created a Relief Organization for Kashmiri migrants. He said the government employees at that time were adjusted in Relief Organization for the smooth functioning so that burning problems of the migrants could be solved at war footing adding the work in the said organization is continuing. He alleged that some miscreants want to destabilize the routine work of Relief Organization for their own benefits.
"The AMCCC leaders requested Deputy Commissioners to stop encroachments of Kashmiri Pandits land.
AMCCC leaders will agitate at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to draw attention of media and government towards the problems being faced by migrants since 1990," said AMCCC President.
