| Rather underscores role of poets, writers in socio economic transformation | | | Early Times Report
CHADOORA (BUDGAM) Dec 4: The 13th death anniversary of Sufi poet and social activist late Ab. Gani Namtahali was observed today at a function jointly organised by Anjuman-e-Sufiana Ahmad Shah Badshah, Chadoora and J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages at Wathura. The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, A R Rather was the chief guest. MLC, Ali Mohammad Dar, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Khurshied Ahmed Shah and a large number of people related to art and culture were present on this occasion. Rather on this occasion released 3 books namely, Nawa-e-Dilgudaz comprising poems of late Ab. Gani Namtahali, Munnar written by Mohammad Dilabir Sheikh and Kashmr-e-Nobat Hund Asloob written by Shabnam Rafiqi. Speaking on the occasion the Minister underscored the significance of writers especially poets in bringing socio economic and political revolution in the society, adding that their writings have a deep impact on the people. He also highlighted the role of poet late Ab. Gani Namtahali over the great social reformer and honest public representative who worked for under privileged people throughout his life. Rather also highlighted his contribution in dissemination of revolutionary poems of late Ab. Ahad Azad and Gh. Ahmad Mehjoor. He asked his son Gh. Nabi Namahatali to continue bringing out all writings of late Namtahali so that people benefitted. |
