Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 3: In a bizarre happening, the Secretary State Sports Council has back tracked on his own transfer order No. 611 issued on November 16 directing 26 coaches of various disciplines to join their new place of posting as they deemed to have been relieved from the date of issue of the order. Moreover, these coaches were issued individual relieving orders on November 19, 2013 by the Sports Officer (Jammu) of the State Sports Council, Rajan Sharma so as to ensure the compliance of the order issued by the Secretary through Chief Accounts Officer (CAO), who also acts as Administrative Officer. The Sports Officer had gone to the extent that he directed coaches to report at new place of posting with in schedule time else their salaries for the month of November, 2013 will not be disbursed. Unaware of the happenings back in the office of the Divisional Sports Officer, the Secretary, who returned to his chair after staying away for around 10 days, had made up mind to maintain status quo with regard to transfers in the light of strictures passed by the High Court while putting stay on movement of six of these coaches. However, as per the informed sources, a peculiar situation arise when Secretary came to know that Divisional Office of the autonomous sports body has already issued individual relieving orders without taking in confidence the higher ups. On this, Secretary called the Sports Officer (SO-J) in his office and took serious note of the `self-style' functioning of the SO. He immediately asked the Sports Officer to inform all the coaches to return to their original places of postings till further orders. Pertinent to mention here that on the directions of Secretary State Sports Council, Dilip Thusu, the Chief Account Officer had ordered transfers and adjustments of a record 26 coaches at the district level in Jammu Division only. Meanwhile, finding coaches back at the coaching centers, parents and players as well had a sigh of relief. |
