Srinagar, Dec 3: Police on Tuesday arrested four persons from central Kashmir's Budgam district in connection with Monday's attack in the Chadoora town that left a police officer dead and three others, including two cops injured. Official sources told local news gathering agency that special operation group (SOG) of police today arrested four suspected persons following the attack at Chadoora area of Budgam district. Sources identified the arrested persons as Abdul Rashid Dar his son Mohsin Rashid Dar of Panzan and two brothers Showkat Ahmad and Mohammad Iqbal, sons of Mohd Rajab Sheergojri of Dadompara, Chadoora. "Mohsin, Showkat and Iqbal are believed to be the operatives of Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit" sources said, adding, their role is being ascertained in the deadly attack. Earlier in the day, police, CRPF and army intensified the frisking and checking of vehicles at Chadoora and its adjoining villages. The frisking and checking creates inconvenience among the locals, sources said. Meanwhile, scores of drivers alleged that forces without any provocation manhandled many of them and smashed the windowpanes of dozens of vehicles in Chadoora Market. "At least four sumo drivers were received injuries after they were beaten to pulp by the forces", a driver wishing anonymity said. Pertinently, Station House Officer (SHO) Chadoora Sub Inspector Shabir Ahmad was killed and four others including two civilians injured on Monday in a surprise militant attack in Chadoora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district. The cops identified as SPO, Firdous Ahmad, and Mohammad Shafi and two civilians Ghulam Mohammad Dar son of Mohammad Ramzan and Nazir Ahmad were referred to SKIMS, Soura for specialized treatment. |
