| Katra police holds public meet | | | Early Times Report
Katra, Dec 3 : In an effort to strengthen police-public relations and bring people closer to the Police for prevention and detection of crime, a Police Public Meet was today organized at Katra. A large number of prominent citizens including shopkeepers, social workers participated in the meeting while SP Katra Kulbeer Singh, SDPO Ghulam Hussain Shiekh and SHO Katra Sanjeev Gupta were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, SP Katra asked the local people for their help to share the information about those people who are indulged in unauthorized selling of meat, liquor, narcotics and tobacco products in the holy town Katra. He further informed that around 21 FIRs in context with crime are stand registered with Katra police station since the last two months. He also pointed out the people who are putting up in slums near Katra town said "We have some information that some outsiders are living in those slums and there need to be an investigation with the assistance of local" Lashing out at the shopkeepers using banned polythene carry bags at Katra, SP said that offenders will be taken with heavy hand and FIRs will be lodged against them. However he further said that the primary job to action against offender is of Municipal Committee Katra. |
