| National sample survey organizes regional training camp | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 4: National Sample Survey Office under Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is organizing a three days Regional Training Camp on NSS 71st Round at Jammu from today. The training is attended by the officers from NSSO (FOD), Jammu, SRO, Udhampur and officers from DES of Jammu Division. NSS 71st Round is earmarked for the survey on "Health and Morbidity" and "Education and IT Literacy". The last survey on these subjects was conducted in 60th Round of NSS (2004) and the same on education was conducted during 64th round of NSS 2007-2008. Conference started today with welcome address by Dr. Shailja Sharma, DDG, giving an emphasis on the quality of data. She impressed upon the field staff to make every effort to give quality and accurate data in this round of the survey. Dr. Sharma further mentioned that the training conference will provide an insight of various terms and definitions used in different schedules of 71st round. During the survey, the data on the expenditure incurred on treatment received from public and private sector is to be collected. The analysis will also ascertain the extent of use of private and public hospitals for child birth, the cost incurred and the extent of the receipts of pre-natal and post-natal care. With a view to assess the understanding of the subject by the trainees, the training will be imparted by Dr. Shailja Sharma, DDG, V.K.Malla, SO and S.L.Khajuria, SO. First two days of training will be devoted to discussion on concepts and definitions, technical terms and contents of various schedules to be used in the survey. Final day of programme will cover practical training, feedback and quiz session. |
