| Bharat College holds symposium on environment | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 4: A symposium was held in Bharat College of Education on yesterday on this topic save environment to save the humanity. Seventeen students took part in symposium. The speakers stressed on reducing the level of pollution for a healthy life. Miss Sonia said that let us start a movement to protect vegetation in our surrounding area another suggested of us should plant at least one sapling every year. Anuradha stressed on population control which is the major cause of leading to degradation of environment. Mittu opinion was that man, plant and tress and animals have been shaping and reshaping the environment so they are to be protected from environmental pollutions. Priya talked about global warming and the need to control the level of carbon dioxide. Jyoti blamed the scientific and industrial development but then we cannot stop scientific development or close our factories. The symposium was presided over by Dr. RC Bhagat. He agreed that never before in the history of mankind, the man has been worried so much about the environment degradation as he is today we have to look for the ways and means to save it. However the consensus was arrived at saving the forest cover and planting more trees and a restricted use of pollution releasing machines. Priya, Mittu and Gurmeet Kaur were adjudged as first, second and third respectively. |
