| JMC's anti-adulteration drive continues | | | ET Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Continuing drive against the menace of adulteration a extensive tour under the supervision of Dr. Vinod Sharma Health Officer JMC, conducted today while touring in the areas Vikram Chowk, Satwari, Digiana etc. Besides this enforcement wing of JMC also conducted an anti encroachment drive in the city and cleared a illegaly constructed struturein city. About 20 kgs of polythene was seized from 21 defaulters and a fine of Rs. 6800 (including Smoking Fine Rs.900) was also realized from these defaulters. All the business owners are also instructed not to use polythene bags. During the round citizens were advised not to smoke in the public places as it is injurious to health. Eight persons were booked under COTP Act 2003 and fined Rs 900 under section 4, 6(a), & 5 of COTP Act 2003. Moreover, the Health Officer JMC organized an awareness camp at Purani Mandi which was attended by prominent Milk Shops Owners, Milk Vendors and general public. All the shopkeepers were asked to keep milk testing machines in their shops for checking of milk besides displaying rate list of milk and the contents of milk i.e. fats, SNF etc. JMC officials also directed milk vendors to place Cow Milk, Buffalo Milk, and Mixed Milk separately at their premises. As we all know that the Cow Milk is good for all especially for Children as well as Old aged persons; So it is also advised to the general public to give preference to the Cow Milk for drinking purposes. |
