Advocate Sushil Gupta, senior activists of WPRAC appealed the refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 and other social thinkers, workers and originations to join the refuge rally so that the motive to highlight the issues and demands of the refugees like to give the permanent citizenship right in Jammu and Kashmir state like other parts of the refugees across the country could be achieved. Gupta said that the main object of conducting this rally is to highlight the long pending issues and demands of the refugees with their early settlement. He said that refugees are confronting for their genuine rights since independence, but all successive governments have failed to address their issues. In order to redress their plight, a Special Leave Petition was filed by in 1987 in the Supreme Court of India.
