| 450 rural children receive scholarship | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: During the eight day camp concluded by Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust, about 450 students received scholarship. The release issued by the trust said, 90% of the students were girls and 85% were from rural areas.
Devika Dhawan, a major sponsor of the Trust from Kuala Lampur, Malaysia was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Balvinder Singh from Katra was the guest of honour.
The Guest was briefed about the mentorship and medical support programmes run by the Trust for all round support of the children. She praised the noble efforts of the Trust in not only helping the cause of education but also helping society at large to empower women.
The chief guest told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the trust. |
