Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 14: Renowned Rheumatologist and Prof & Head Department of General Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC), Dr Annil Mahajan has been elected as executive committee member of Medical Council of India (MCI) in the first general body meeting of newly elected members of MCI which held on December 10, 2013. Dr Annil Mahajan has brought laurels to the institute and state with this rare distinct honor in a meeting of the newly elected members of MCI from different parts of country (90) in which Dr Jayshree Mehta, Vice Chancellor, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University Vadodora, Gujrat and Dr CV Bhirmanandhand were elected President and Vice- President of MCI respectively. Dr Mahajan is first trained Rheumatologist in J&K State and has immense contributions in Rheumatology, Menopause, HIV Medicine, Medical Journalism beside Medical Excellence in General Medicine, Teaching & Patient Care. He is Fellow-Rheumatology, Fellow Indian College of Physicians, Fellow International Academy Medical Sciences, Fellow Indian Academy Clinical Medicine, Member National Academy Medical Sciences. He has been Principal Investigator in WHO-ILAR COPCORD 1st Rheumatological Indian Multicentric trial and an Advisor to International Bone & Joint Convention (65 Countries). He is also Editor In General - JK Science, Journal of Medical Education and Research, and National Advisory/Editorial Board Member of Journal (J) Association of Physicians India, J Midlife Health, J and Academy Clinical Medicine, Indian J Rheumatology & J Indian Medical Association. He has been awarded Prestigious GB Oration of Indian Academy Clinical Medicine and has been national Executive Member of Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA) for six consecutive years. He is also founder President IRA-J&K Chapter. It is worthwhile to mention here that MCI is a principal and supreme regulatory Governing body of all medical Intuitions of the country in term of admissions, requirement, standardization of medical education, ethics code and conduct of medical practice. |
