Gujjar Mahasabha hails Modi for showing concern to nomad community issues

Jammu, Dec 14: While hailing Modi's concerns to nomad community, Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha has extended its gratitude to BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, Narender Modi and the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for showing extreme concern towards the issues of Gujjars and Bakkerwals of J&K during the party's Lalkaar Rally on Dec 1 and also assuring their redressal. In a statement issued here today, Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha, president, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal said that Modi during the Lalkaar Rally, by mentioning the problems of Gujjars and Bakkerwals of the state, has shown that he is very well aware of the problems of Gujjars and Bakkerwals.
"He has rekindled a new hope among the Gujjars and Bakkerwals of the state that their long pending problems would be solved very soon," Poswal said while adding that Gujjars and Bakkerwals have approached every political party for redressal of their issues and now they have lot of hopes from the BJP as it raised their issues vociferously. He also said that the women of the state have also got as new hope from the BJP for their rights. "It should not be election rhetoric only", he said and expressed hope that the party would continue to plead the cause in future also.
He further said that Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha has been fighting for the cause of these downtrodden and backward communities since long but so far except assurances nothing has been done to address the burning problems of these communities.
"We met President of India, met Prime Minister, we called on Rahul Gandhi, we met Home Minister of India, Governor J&K, Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, JKPCC president, Prof Saifuddin Soz, AICC general secretary and incharge J&K affairs, Ambika Soni and other senior leaders and highlighted the problems confronting Gujjars and Bakkerwals but except assurances and promises no step has so far been taken to mitigate the sufferings of these communities".
