Sports Reporter JAMMU, Dec 14: The five-wicket haul from Mohd Muddasir today helped Jammu and Kashmir restrict Assam to 263 in the first innings on day one after hosts won the toss and opted to field in the Ranji Trophy Group-C tie at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here today. Parvez Rasool and Samiullah Beigh also bowled well sharing four wickets while Ram Dayal took other wicket. However, before Beigh took the wicket of G Sharma, the middle order batsman had already caused much of the damage completing his century thereby helped the side make 263 runs in 87.5 overs. Earlier, J&K succeeded in their game plan of bowling first and managed to reduce Assam to 83 for five. But, to their dismay, Assam managed a competitive total, courtesy brilliant innings played by G Sharma in the middle. Sharma made 108 runs studded with 15 boundaries before he was caught by Hardeep Singh off Samiullah Beigh. |
