| PDD casual labourers protest enters 9th day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: The protest of PDD casual labourers outside Chief Engineer’s office entered ninth day today.
The members of union said that they were promised by Chief Secretary of J&K in the month of April 2013 that the release of pending wages of Rs 6.50 crores in favour of need based/casual labourers has been sanctioned by the government but nothing has been done so far, adding that now they are left with no option other than to go onr strike/agitation for the fulfillment of their basic required demands.
They further said that till now 75 casual labourers lost their lives during the public service without any pay. |
