Jammu, Dec 14: Displaced persons from Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) including camp and non-camp, are going to hold a protest demonstration in support of their demands at Rajinder Park , Jammu Canal Road under the Chairmanship of Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib (Retd), President POK DP's Front.
Rally will start from Rajinder Park and will culminate at Press Club, Jammu to highlight the demands of refuges who are suffering since long for their grievances to be redressed and nothing has been done so far.
According to spokesperson of PoK DP, the displaced community still struggling for their demands including Enlistment of left out DP's not yet Registered, Ownership Rights for DP's of 1947, 1965 and 1971 (Non Camp), Issuance of ALC Certificate to all DP's, Displaced families staying in the vicinity of Border areas should be given Actual Line of Control (ALC) area Certificate; Wards of DP's be given minimum of 15% reservation in Colleges, Universities, Professional Colleges, Technical Colleges, IITs etc. on the pattern of Kashmiri Migrants in Central States; Backward Status be given to All DP's , House Less families of displaced persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971 (Non Camp) be given monthly honorarium on similar pattern like Kashmiri migrants are paid.
Other demands to be raised during the rally include Unspent amounts of Rs 68 Lakhs as ex-gratia relief of displaced persons of 1971 (Non Camp) is still lying with the Secretariat and the same should be paid to DC Jammu for onward distribution to displaced families, Board for development of displaced persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971 (Non Camp) on the patron of other development Boards e.g. Gujjar Development Board etc, 24 seats of Assembly to be given to DP's of POK. |
