SAMBA, Dec 26: A meeting to discuss arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day 2014 was convened here under the Chairmanship of DDC Samba, RK Varma at the Conference Hall of District Office complex, Samba.
In the meeting it was decided that Republic Day celebrations shall be held at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Ground, Kehli Mandi, Samba and National Flag hoisting ceremony shall take place at 9:55 AM. It was informed that during the celebrations, the Chief Guest shall take salute from various marching contingents drawn from police, Army, NCC, Ex-Serviceman, school Students etc. Thereafter, cultural programme based on patriotic theme will be presented and function will end with the prize distribution ceremony.
For the celebrations various committees like site/venue preparation committee, Hospitality & Protocol Committee, Prize Selection Committee, Beautification/Illumination Committee, Refreshment Committee comprising of District Officers were constituted.
DDC directed all the officers to put in their efforts to make all arrangements for the celebrations.
