| Vice Chairman JKPAB inaugurates Pahari Girls Hostel in Rajouri | | | early times report
Rajouri, Dec 26: Kafeer-ur-Rehman, vice chairman J&K Pahari Advisory Board (JKPAB) today inaugurated 3rd Pahari Girls Hostel in the State in the presence of Shabir Khan, Health Minister and other dignitaries at Rajouri on other day.
According to Mehmood Khan, in-charge girls hostel who is also District Social Welfare Officer, though in rental accommodation, 45 girls from far flung and poor families have been accommodated in the hostel with an intake capacity of 50 students .
Earlier in his inaugural address Kafeer-ur-Rehaman, vice chairman JKPAB appealed to the Pahari community people to vote against those parties which will oppose our demand for ST status.
He also said that that our demand for ST status was also endorsed by the present former Prime Ministers and former President of India which includes APJ Abdul Kalam, Atal Bihari Bajpayee, IK Gujral and Manmohan Singh during their visits to J&K.
Shokat Hussain Qazmi, Secretary JKPAB stated that at present including girls hostel at Rajouri the JKPDB is running 9 hostels in the state including two girls hostels at Poonch and Kupwara districts.
Mirza Abdul Rashid ex-cabinet minister and ex-MP who is also one of the founding members of JK Pahari People Welfare Forum said JKPDB has contributed a lot in this direction.
Mustaq Bukhari ,chairman Pahari Cultural Welfare Forum (PCWF) and former vice chairman JKPAB said that it was due to the efforts of the JKPAB that today the Pahari community is being recognized by State as sell as Union governments and our students from Sunderbani (Rajouri) to Mandi(Poonch) were getting scholarships and other benefits.
In his address Shabir Khan, Health Minister (I/C) said that girls hailing from down trodden society (Pahari) even orphan will be benefitted by opening girls hostel at Rajouri. He also added that he will instruct the CMO to provided doctors including lady doctor for treating the students in every girl hostel in Rajouri district. He also added that a land has been identified for the constructtion of Pahari girls hostel and soon funds would be released for its construction. |
