| BJP leaders made 'parikrama' of strongman during two day stay | | RSS 'influence' matters . . . . . . | | early times report Jammu, Dec 26 : RSS strongman Arun Kumar was in Jammu for the last two days in connection with a seminar and his stay saw entire almost entire BJP leadership doing a 'Parikrama' of a person in whom many have been seeing a 'Godfather' to get favours clicked to be someone in the party. In other words sycophancy of RSS leader was at its peak, BJP style , apparently with all eyes and mind on Parliamentary and Assembly elections. Even though Arun Kumar had come to attend a seminar on Article 370 , he was seen surrounded mainly by BJP leaders at the venue as well off the scene. Pertinently, Arun Kumar is no new to the state unit of BJP as he has served as RSS chief in the state. It was during this tenure most of the top leaders developed proximity with him and it was not without a cause. For one, Arun Kumar, who is at present member of national team of RSS is considered to be wielding a considerable influence over BJP central leadership in decisions with regard to functioning in J&K. Arun Kumar's tenure in J&K also saw his complete say not only in day to day aspects of political matters but in all small big decisions where his nod would go make or mar the prospects of state leaders. Sources within the party say during the time when the party faced crisis post cross voting episode in LC polls, he had a crucial role in expulsion of some MLAs from the party. Same way, the RSS strongman has been pivotal in making the final choice of candidates in elections, LS polls in the past. His say for some leaders to be given mandate would click, notwithstanding what the results would be, said the sources. However, all this has bot augured well the common cadres within the BJP who have seen all this as not merely 'influence' rather 'interference' which has done more harm than any good to the organisational matters . Insiders in the party say this 'over influence' in routine as well as key decisions might have fetched some instant gains to few but this has ket most of the dedidated lot at distance. While this continued during Arun Kumar's stay as RSS chief in the state, the proximity line crossed all limits even now with many leaders, when they were seen queueing up virtually to stay close to him during a short visit to Jammu. While those have remained in good books manage 'blessings' with ease, those on the other side find themselves as helpless onlookers, courtesy ever increasing influence of RSS on BJP working. Ironically, all this also exposes the double speak of RSS itself that it is in no affliated to BJP and it stands only as a socail organisation whereas the 'influence' became more than clear the way BJP leaders conducted themselves during the last two days. |
