Vijaypur, Dec 26: A large number of villagers from border villages of Ramgarh sector led by Senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today shouted slogans against the district administration for its failure to assure benefits of compensation to the deserving farmers who had suffered due to flash floods. The protesters alleged that the Government has not taken their concern into account following falsh flood in Basantar and Devak rivers. "The flood water entered the fields of the farmers in villages like Brota, Lagwal, Kesoo, Kamoor, Kamor Camp, Rangoor, Govind Garh, Babral, Chak Paras, Nanga, and Jagat Pur Majra making the fertile lan uncultivable," Manjit Singh said. He said that over 8 feets of sand has gathered into the fields due to which the poor farmers were unable to cultivate their fields forcing them to lead a miserable life. "The poor farmers were dependent on fields and now they have been facing starvation like situation," Singh speaking at the demonstration said. He threatened that if the Government would not pay compensation to the deserving, coercive battle will be fought in future. |
