| Corporation silent over deputation of SMVDU PIO | | Queer ways of JKML | | Avinash Azad Jammu, Dec 31: The casual working of Government departments could be well gauged from the fact that Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited (JKML) is still silent over the deputation period of Rajesh Kumar Sharma, incumbent Public Information Officer (PIO) of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). Sources informed Early Times that Rajesh Kumar Sharma, the then Section Officer at Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited (JKML) had joined SMVDU as Section Officer (Legal) on July 1, 2009, on lien basis. "The posting on lien basis is maximum for three years and if some officer will not return to the parent department, his lien stands cancelled but astonishingly, the Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited is still silent over the status of Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who is at SMVDU for the last around five years", sources said, adding that in the meantime Rajesh Kumar Sharma had also get adjusted as Assistant Registrar in SMVDU. In reply to RTI application, the Jammu and Kashmir Minerals Limited was found silent over the deputation of Rajesh Kumar Sharma on lien basis. "Rajesh Sharma SO (Legal) was allowed to hold lien in his parent department on securing fresh appointment in SMVDU provided that the total absence of incumbent is not more than three years. Since the absence of officials has exceeded three years, his lien stands cancelled automatically in terms of order issued already in this regard", the reply of JKML stated. Astoundingly, the reply of JKML further said that no termination orders have been issued in favour of the official by his parent department (JKML). Moreover, in reply to a question regarding permanent absorption of Rajesh Kumar Sharma, the JKML reply stated that the records were silent about any consent or concurrence given by the management for his permanent absorption in the service cadre of SMVDU. Sources said that though Rajesh Kumar Sharma has been absorbed in the SMVDU, but still the JKML has not terminated his services from the parent department, which only reflected the queer ways of department, which was least bothered about its functioning. |
