Kathua, Jan 4 : Tehsildar Basohli Sat Paul organised a voter day awareness camp at Panchayat Ghar Plassi under 'Sweep Programme' in Basohli . Speaking on the occasion the Tehsildar imparted the knowledge of the process of making new electoral rolls including new registration of voters, deletion of voters, transfer of names in the electoral rolls, within and outside the other assembly- parliamentary constituency areas besides correction of names in the voter list. He disclosed that as many as 72 Booth Level Officers (BLO) in 72 booths were appointed to facilitate the smooth conduct of pre election work and during the election days. He stressed upon the need to know the importance of their right to franchise and its wise use for better governance. He disclosed that the National Voter Day which is scheduled to be held on 25thJanuary 2014 will be celebrated at panchayat level. He said voter ID Card (EPIC) will be given to the newly registered voters on the Nation-al Voters Day at Panchayat level. On the occasion BLO's, prominent citizens, Panchs, Sarpanchs and large number of people were also present. |
