Yes, facts speak-I

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 4: Omar Abdullah led coalition government completes five years in office tomorrow. A detailed advertisement titled `Facts speak' has been issued by the Department of Information highlighting the achievements of the coalition government.
Yes, facts speak. Nobody contests this but what do they speak by the way. The facts reflect that corruption has flourished and almost `institutionalized' in the past five years. It has been an era of scams and scandals. Spurious drugs, BOPEE scam, Exam-gate, Infant deaths, land grabbing, fudging of forensic reports and the list is endless.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister while assuming office on January 5, 2009 promised a clean and transparent administration. He promised to weed out corruption and removal of dead wood from the administration.
The facts, however, belie his claim. No dead wood was removed. Instead, retired officials were given extensions the orders to the contrary notwithstanding. An official who got repeated extensions sold the common entrance test papers to facilitate entry of Munna Bhai's into the noble medical profession.
Facts about Haji Yusuf killing, which do not find a mention in the aforementioned advertisement, speak volumes about the coalition government's concern for human rights. A person visits the Chief Minister's residence is taken into custody on the instructions of the Chief Minister, he dies and nothing moves. The Chief Minister gets a clean chit from an investigating agency but the matter is pending adjudication in the apex court.
Yes, the facts speak. A tertiary care hospital in Srinagar supplies sub-standard oxygen to the patients and the director stays intact. The Chief Minister happens to be the chairman of the hospital. Seven people die every day in the said hospital but who cares for human life in this neglected land? The head of the hospital changes the minutes of the meeting and the Chief Minister remains mum, why?
Facts are bitter but they reflect the truth. While the Chief Minister relentlessly talks about revocation of AFSPA, the erring personnel of the state police forces involved in heinous crimes go scot free. This too is not reflected in the advertisement. The Chief Minister knows that the state police is not governed by AFSPA but fails to take action, why? And then the people come to know through a Home Ministry statement that the Chief Minister never sought revocation of the law.
