| IAH organizes continuing Medical Education Programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 4 : Indraprastha Apollo Hospital (IAH) today organized Continuing Medical Education Programme here at Jammu. According to press release, during the programme medical practitioners discuss basic issues related to liver transplantation, indications and results, treatment of chronic viral hepatitis and management of HBV malignancy and the programme was organized in association with Jammu healthcare and diagnostic centre private limited. Addressing the gathering Dr. Subash Gupta said, "Apollo is one of busiest transplant centers in world. Under the aegis of 'gift a life initiative', we have been active in advocacy and activities to promote the cause of organ donation. With 300 living donors in a year, we are the most experienced liver transplant centre in the world". "Hepato biliary and pancreatic cancer are degenerating cancers which have a high mortality if not surgically treated timely. Cancers of iver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts are challenging diseases that require complex care plans. Surgery for these cancers involve high level liver and pancreatic surgery where experience of living donor liver transplant is highly useful. Even after completionof treatment, follow up care is essentially required to check for cancer recurrence or spread as well as possible side effects of certain treatments" said senior consultant liver transplants Indraprastha Apollo Dr. Neerav Goyal. While addressing the media persons, Dr. Kuldeep Gupta MD of Jammu healthcare and diagnostic pvt. ltd. said that Jammu healthcare and diagnostic centre in Jammu is a part of Apollo information center network. The diagnostic centre has been serving the people of Jammu for almost seven years.
