1/4/2014 10:35:32 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Jan 4 : The leaders of National Panthers Party (NPP) today threatened to launch protest against the failure of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department.
Addressing the media persons here on Saturday, NPP leader Yash Pal Singh Manhas said that in remote areas, dealers are only giving 200 Gms sugar against 700 Gms as fixed by the government.
He demanded that the sugar be provided to areas of R.S Pura, Samba, Kathua, Hira Nagar, Marh Block, Bhalwal, Rajouri and Reasi. He stated that the Food Security Bill was passed to provide rice, flour, sugar and pulses to poor at cheaper rates but contrary to this, CAPD Department is not supplying ration to people which shows callousness including treachery on the part of government which has promised to provide food to the poor.
He stated that if no action is taken against the dealers who are supplying the Rashan in their vehicles or the affiliated authority and if the black marketing of the Rashan is not stopped then NPP is going take action against the culprits.
He was accompanied by Shanker Singh, Parveen Sharma, Bishamber Dass and Partap Singh.
