Jammu, Jan 4: The National Secular Forum (NSF) today declared that it would launch series of protests against the irregularities and favoritisms in the appointments of Central University of Jammu (CUJ). Talking to the media persons here, Sukhdev Singh President NSF, said it was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor N.R.Sharma as first Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the varsity who has been over-aged retired professor. The post of DSW is an administrator. "As per the Central University Statutes, DSW officer should not be above 62 years but the VC has recruited Professor N.R.Sharma as DSW who is above 65years," he said, adding, "in the process, all deserved candidates were ignored. The NSF leaders demanded an in-depth inquiry into the entire game plan and warned that they would launch agitation if necessary steps were taken to get rid of nepotism from the campus. The speakers also announced that it would also a sit-in outside the Raj Bhawan to seek the attention of the Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chancellor of Jammu Central University, towards prevailing nepotism and favoritisms on the campus, besides appointment of incompetent/ overaged officers on key positions in the administration. |
