| JCO shoots self, dies | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 4: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in his unit at Keeri area under the jurisdiction of Khour police station.
The deceased has been identified as Govind Singh of 9 Gorkha Riffles.
Police said that colleagues of the deceased informed that at around 9:30 am they hear gun shoot and immediately rush towards the sound and found Govind in a pool of blood.
"His service weapons was also lying aside", police said quoting colleagues of the deceased.
Police further said that the deceased died on the spot and after legal formalities the body was handed over to unit officials for sending to his native place.
Police said that a case in this connection has been registered to ascertain the reasons behind such an extreme step and further investigation is on. |
