| 4 year old crushed to death | | |  early times report
Jammu, Jan 4: Tension gripped entire Nagrota area after a minor was crushed to death by a tractor trolley here at Jagti township area on Saturday. Following the incident, a massive protest demonstration was staged by the migrant pandit families who set the tractor trolley on fire. The deceased was identified as Vivek Kumar (4) son of Pyare Lal. The boy was on way to home when a rashly driven tractor trolley run over him. The driver of the tractor trolley after the incident rushed from the spot. Soon, after receiving information of the incident, a police team from Nagrota rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring them of early arrest of the driver of the tractor trolley. The vehicle was later seized and hunt was launched by police to arrest the absconding driver. The last rites of the deceased were performed after postmortem.
The camp commandant R K Kilam alongwith staff also rushed to the spot and expressed his heart felt condolences with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, police registered a case under section 304A RPC against the driver for negligent and rash driving. Police have also registered a case u/s 435 RPC against the unknown protestors who set the vehicle on fire, Their identification was also in progress. |
