Kishtwar, Feb 10: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Avtar Singh Chib today inaugurated two day training awareness programme. The was commenced in presence of District Agriculture Officer R K Hatishi and Saffron Development Officer Narinder Mishra inaugurated two days training awareness program on Saffron Development organized by department of Saffron Development Kishtwar in collaboration with Department of Agriculture Kishtwar. The aim and objective of organizing today's program is to aware the participants from different regions of the Jammu Division on recent advance techniques introduced in the agriculture sector, beside to promote the cultivation of the saffron in other parts of the Jammu Division as cash crop. In his address ADDC Kishtwar while parsing the steps taken by the concern department in promoting National Saffron Mission laid the stress for taking advantage of modern techniques so that the Saffron growers could get benefit from these techniques. He said that agriculture is the main tool of development and plays an important role in building the economy of state as well as the country. He also assured full support to the officers of concern department on part of the District administration and advice them to hold regular meeting with different working agencies including with the leading bankers to felicitate the Kissan Credit Card benefits to the Saffron growers. The representatives of the Jammu and Kashmir bank informed that the bank has provided Rs 10 crore loan in last few years to the saffron growers. They stress for covering the saffron crop under insurance policy so that the Saffron growers did not suffer any losses in case of any climatic disaster like drought. |
