| PDP stalls show on first day of budget session | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) today only projected a drama in central hall of state legislature whereas the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) succeeded in first day of budget session. It was a win-win situation for the PDP when Governor Cut short his address mid-way and left the place whereas the BJP members were playing to gallery and after five to seven minutes of shouting, they left the place. The National Conference-Congress coalition government was on back foot on the start of the budget session when the PDP led scathing attack and forced Governor to leave the place in a hurry. The government was not able to do anything to control the situation and PDP took it to the logical end, as per their strategy. After Governor left, all PDP legislators gathered inside the chamber of deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Sartaj Madni and enjoyed tea. Despite the fact that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had told legislators of coalition partners to jointly face the opposition's attack but all went into vain when PDP forced the Governor to leave the place in a hurry. Now, the government will be trying to counter the attacks of PDP but until former Health Minister, Shabir Ahmad Khan is arrested, they will have to bear the brunt from the opposition. The BJP has some advantage this time as five of the seven expelled MLAs are back in party and they will be joining their hands to attack the government, but on the very first day of the session, BJP has lost and PDP won. |
