Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 10: Team of experts from Directorate of Agriculture along with Mobile Plant Health Clinic visited the fields of the farmers of Gole, Ranjitpur, Gole Gujral, Seora and Tarlokpur of Marh Sub-Division in view of the reports of initiation of Yellow Rust in wheat crop in the area. The on-spot spray of chemical was carried out at the field of Jagjeet Singh Chib located at village Gole. The disease has just started in the area and the experts have been advised the farmers to go for the immediate spray of Propiconazole 25% EC or Tebuconazole 25.9% using 200 ml of chemical in 200 litres of water per acre. The sprays should be repeated after 10-15 days if the infection is severe. In view of the fluctuating weather conditions, agriculture experts have asked the farmers to maintain constant vigil against Yellow Rust infection in wheat crop. Farmers must inspect their wheat fields regularly which can be recognized by small yellow powdery masses on leaves running in rows forming stripes. The team of experts comprised of Romesh Misri, SMS (District Level), S. L. Thussu, SMS (SDL) and Dharmesh Vaid, AEO. Agriculture Extension Officer, Pounichak, Sanjeev Mishra, Agriculture Extension Officer, Marh Vijay Johar and Romesh Sharma, JAEO were also accompanying the team. |
