| PYC calls off agitation; Congratulates Panches, Sarpanches for victory | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 10: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) today held a press conference here at party office under its President Shahnawaz Choudhary who was accompanied by Pranav Shagotra, Vice President JKPYC, State General Secretaries Manjeet Singh Jatt and Abid Kashmiri and thanked panchyat members for their victory.
Meanwhile JKPYC also announced to terminate its agitation after state cabinet announced implementation of some provisions of 73rd amendments in Panchayati Raj Institution.
Talking to media persons, Shahnawaz Choudhary said that it is the historic day for the people of the state that provisions of 73rd amendment are approved by the cabinet to be incorporated in the state of J&K. He said that the decentralization of powers was the dream of Late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and this is the decentralization of powers from the secretariat to the village panchayats. It is the biggest victory of the people of state since independence.
Addressing the media Vice president of Pradesh Youth Congress Pranav Shagotra thanked all the youth congress activists & workers all over the state and said that without their will & unending support & struggle, winning of this battle was impossible.
He also thanked panches&sarpanches of the state for their patience and support & their confidence in youth congress.
Manjeet Singh Jatt, State General Secretary thanked Omar led government & Prof. SaifuddinSoz, President JKPCC for his support and presenting their voice in the coordination committee. |
