| Expedite process of developmental works: Hakim Yasin | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 6: Urging the state government to expedite the process of developmental works in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) chairman and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said that poor people were suffering due to official apathy. In a statement, Hakim Yasin said, "For the last couple of months government was making modal code of conduct as an excuse. Now with a few days left in the MCC, it is high time that government gears up its machinery so that developmental works are completed well before another MCC comes into effect during Assembly elections." He said people were suffering on several fronts on account of lack of electricity, bad condition of roads and want of potable water. "Due to the recent heavy snowfall conditions of roads have worsened. Transformers and transmission lines in several areas are damaged. It is high time that government takes emergency steps in this direction so that people may not suffer more," the MLA Khansahib demanded. Hakim also urged the Irrigation and Flood Control Department authorities to make it sure that the irrigation canals which have been blocked due to heavy snow and rainfall are cleared as the agriculture season in the Valley has started. He assured the people of his full cooperation in tackling their problems. |
