| Fresh Summons to SHO Gandhi Nagar, others through SSP | | Advocate manhandling Case | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 6 : In a complaint filed by Advocate Harshvardhan Gupta against the SHO P/S Gandhi Nagar, ASI P/S Gandhi Nagar & PSO of SHO Gandhi Nagar Jammu u/s 323/504/506/406/409/382 & 342 RPC, special Mobile Magistrate Railway Jammu Sandeep Gandotra issued fresh Summon of Arun Jamwal SHO Gandhi Nagar, his PSO V Chowdhary & PC Saini ASI and directed SSP Jammu to execute the summons and fixed May 19, 2014 for their appearance. In a complaint, complainant submitted that he along with his colleague Vivek Sharma went to Bazar on scooty for purchase of house hold goods on April 16, 2014, when the complainant just reach nanak Nagar Shivaji Chowk Jammu, Arun Jamwal SHO Gandhi Nagar hit back the scooty with lathi and V Chowdhary PSO & PC Saini ASI in a very rough language asked the complaint to park the scooty at one side. When the complainant asked them to behave properly and use proper language, all the three police officers/officials went into a fit of rage and started abusing and beating the complainant with fist and blows. The complainant apprised them that the complainant is an advocate, and then the behavior and conduct of police persons became more aggressive and started uttering defamatory remarks against the advocate community thereby stating that the advocate community is responsible for crime and in fact they are Gunda Community and took the complainant in Police Station.
In the meanwhile his colleague had brought the brother of the complainant to the police station and the complainant kept in the police lock-up and the complainant further submitted that police persons snatched the personal belonging of the complainant including Rs 3200 cash and a gold ring. It has also been submitted by the complainant that in presence of his colleague police personals attacked him with fist and blows .It is worthwhile to mention here that on April 21, 2014 Court after recording the preliminary statement of complainant and witnesses took cognizance against Arun Jamwal SHO Gandhi Nagar, his PSO V Chowdhary & PC Saini ASI u/s 323/342/504/506/382 RPC and issued summons to them for their appearance today, but their summons were not executed and today Court issued fresh Summons for their appearance on May 19, 2014. |
