| PIL against establishing industrial unit in residential area | | DB directs respondents to file status report | | Jammu, May 6 (JNF): In a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Attar Singh , a social activist regarding setting up of industrial unit in the residential area, Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur observed that Regional Director Pollution Control Board has filed status report and directed other respondents to file status report.
The petitioner had submitted that the petitioner is living in Sohawara where numbers of other villagers are putting-up.
The Sarweshar Overseas has set-up an industrial unit where manufacturing activity is being carried on by him. The area where the industrial unit is set-up exclusively a residential area for the residence of the citizens and has not declared as an industrial area. In the PIL it has been submitted that the industrial set-up is also causing air pollutants is being thrown by its chimneys which caused air pollution and also caused water pollution. |
