| Increase scholarship for Ph D scholars: Sukhdev | | NSF demands self attestation for students | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 28: The National Secular Forum (NSF) today demanded self-attestation for students and also sought increase scholarship being given to the scholars. According to press release, a meeting held here under the Chairman of Sukhdev Singh President NSF. Speaking on the occasion he said that there are various posts lying vacant in the university for the last so many years. He said that nothing has been done by the administration to fill these vacant posts and this is giving rise to unemployment to the scholars. He also demanded that all PhD scholars should be given 15,000 per month and also every MPhil scholars should be given 12000 per month as scholarship to every scholar to get into a successful research in their respective field. Sukhdev Singh further also demands from the state govt. to give equal participation in SSRB/PSC recruitment to all three regions, to create maximum post in Jammu University and off sites Campuses and give preference to the scholar/ Student of Jammu University, to strengthen the University of Jammu in order to generate its own human recourses and To grant equal employment packages to all three region without discriminating. He also demanded that maximum weightage should be given to the M.Phil and Ph.D Degrees in the PSC selection process. Singh also said that self-attestation by the students to fill various forms should be entertained. He further said that the Vice Chancellor of the central university should be from Jammu and also all the appointments in the central university should be from the Jammu. Sukhdev Singh said that if within weeks' time the administration does not fulfilled their demands, otherwise the NSF will launch the agitation against the concerned authorities. Among others who were present in the meeting included Barket Tahir, Ajaz Shah, Qayoom Malik, JB Singh, Amit Sanotra,Vijay Kumar, Anees Charak, Balbinder Singh, Zulfi Singh, Pawan Kumar, Hari Kumar, Bhupinder Singh and others. |
